Why should I use SGTAFC?
SGTAFC is not a lumber yard selling wall panels nor is it another builder with an under-utilized factory. Our only focus is on you, the customer, and working through your needs. We don't tell you what you can do.
How do I get started?
Call the phone number listed on the Contact Us page and we will walk you through the process.
Why floor & roof panels vs. just wall panels?
It's all a matter of saving time under construction.
Is this Modular construction?
NO! The product delivered is ready for field standup, in the case of the walls, just as if they were manually built on the deck but now there are cranes to help.
What about Mechanicals?
Electrical boxes, wiring, breakered panel box - presintalled in walls; toilet flanges preinstalled on floor decks; plumbing tress preinstalled in walls where applicable. What ever makes good sense, saves time in the field and can be damage protected during shipment & erection are candidates.
What are the panel size limitations?
Wall: up to 12-0 high x 16-0 long, 2x4, 2x6, 2x8, etc. Higher walls become shipping issues and must be limited to 12-0 long x 50-0 high.
Floor: 4-0 -> 12-0 wide x 50-0 long, up to 24" dp, depending on need
Roof: 4-0 -> 12-0 wide x 50-0 long
For shipping purposes, overheight 8-0 long walls, 8-0 wide floor & roof panels reduce/eliminate permit requirements
What are the project square foot size limitations?
No projects are too small nor too big
How fast can I get delivery?
Once the customer has accepted the shop drawings, Manufacturing will typically schedule deliveries to start in 3 or 4 weeks.
How important is the foundation being dimensionally correct? Is there a tolerance?
The foundation must be correct as designed and there is an SGTAFC tolerance requirement. Incorrect foundations require SGTAFC rework => extra $ charges.
It's called a 'foundation' for a reason: it's the base that everything is built on. Thus, considering the ready availability of laser levels & range finders, +/- 1/4" or better is the minimum. If you provide the foundation CAD drawings, SGTAFC will ensure adequate diagonal dimensions exist to ensure accuracy. SGTAFC also requires a signed set of Field measurements be received prior to a fixed delivery schedule being published. This makes the entire process much easier on everyone, especially the Field.
How fast can a 2,800 sf 2 story be shell erected?
On average, 4-6 hrs from the sill plate to the roof on and windows closed. We call this "semi-dried-in".
