For many builders, to stay in business the Design/Estimating staff have been reduced to skeleton or below levels.
The single family market will return (there are small pockets of sales) but with a vengence due to pent up demand. How will you respond with new/revised products in time to not get left behind by your competition, big and small?
Some of the lost staff may be able to return but the majority will have left the area, now have 'secure' jobs or left the industry entirely and restaffing with new hires can take months to find good people and many more months to years before you are back to original capabilities.
